In light of guidance from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the recent increase of COVID cases in Detroit, we will only be open to students Monday thru Thursday. In addition, classroom capacity will be further reduced and students will sit at least 9’ apart from one another. As has been the case all year, all students are permitted to work remotely.

Academics (Detroit)

In uncertain times, it is more important than ever that students complete their high school education and earn their diploma.  We strongly encourage every CHA student to work 25 hours or more on classes in Edmentum and Rosetta Stone every week, and no less than 15 hours.  The restrictions on our daily lives may give students an opportunity to graduate sooner than expected.  A diploma will be even more important if our economy continues to suffer from the Coronavirus.

·       For students without Internet, Comcast is offering 60 days of fee Internet ($9.95 per month after that).  To register, go to https://www.internetessentials.com/ or call 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.  We encourage all families to take advantage of this offer.

·       Students can also login using free Wi Fi Hotspots from Xfinity in many parts of the city.  See their Hotspot map to see if there is one near you:  https://hotspots.wifi.comcast.com/.

  • If you have any questions not answered here, or need additional assistance, please contact any one of us by phone or email.  It is our fervent hope that we all get through this safely.  Please be careful, follow healthy guidelines, and let us know if we can help in any way.
